He took the nails for me…

Living He loved me

Dying He saved me

Buried He carried my sins far away

Rising He justified freely forever

One Day He’s Coming…

O Glorious Day!

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:4-5

Glorious Day (living He Loved Me) lyrics

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us
His glory revealed

Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day

One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected

Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He’s ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again

One day the trumpet will sound for His coming
One day the skies with His glories will shine
Wonderful day, my Beloved One, bringing
My Savior, Jesus, is mine

Nothing Can Be Hidden From God

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” –Hebrews 4:13

I wonder what it is like to live day to day with this Biblical truth in mind? My day to day life doesn’t reflect this. It should but sadly it doesn’t. Actually, thinking that God sees everything we do and hears everything we say is a sobering thought. A little frightening too. I’m ashamed to say it but there are things that I do and say each day that I would not do if the Lord was at my side physically. Seriously!

From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth – he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.” Psalm 33:13-22

I suppose it is both comforting and disconcerting. After all, He is watching to protect us and to hold us accountable. He is our shield our deliverer. He also knows where there is real faith and where there is only a head-knowledge or acknowledgement of facts. He knows the sin in our lives and holds us responsible for unconfessed and unrepentant sins. The unconfessed sin in our lives becomes a barrier between us and God. He loves the creatures of his hand and longs to fellowship with us. Since God sees all, there is no covering of sin. It is not just a “good idea” to confess our sins, it is divinely required of us in order to maintain fellowship with God. He created us to have fellowship with Him and in His mercy He forgives us when we admit and confess our sins and He then restores us to fellowship with Him.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” — Hebrews 8:12

Isn’t it wonderful that “His mercies are new every morning?”

“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in him!”  —Lamentations 3:22-24
