August 23rd already!
Summer has come and almost gone, I don’t know how that happened!
School will be starting soon here, some places they’ve already started over a week ago.
I’ve taken a long break from blogging and journaling. It’s time for me to get back to it and start focusing again.
These are the verses that I was reading this morning and found such encouragement in these passages.
“Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Isaiah 40: 28 – 29 NIV
“…where do we go for rest when we are emotionally and spiritually weary? Isaiah brings us the good news – our eternal God abounds in strength and understanding, and He gives His strength and power to the faint.” [Cynthia Heald]
“For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh every one who languishes,” Jeremiah 31:25.”
“But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power…” Isaiah 40:31
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and over burdened, and I will cause you to rest – I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.” Matthew 11:28 (AMP)
“Many a time he gives power to the faint, to those that are ready to faint away; and to those that have no might he not only gives, but increases strength, as there is more and more occasion for it…To those who are sensible of their weakness, and ready to acknowledge they have no might, God does in a special manner increase strength; for, when we are weak in ourselves, then we are strong in the Lord.” — Matthew Henry
In this busy over-scheduled life we live in it is necessary to stop and find refreshment in the presence of the Lord. He longs to renew our strength and give us rest. We only need to stop and be still and dwell on Him and abide in Him and He will give us rest.
