What will this new year bring? Only the Lord knows the answer to that but we do know that it is full of possibilities! Isn’t that one of the exciting things about New Year’s Day? The first day of a new year is like a fresh start. I feel like I need a fresh start in a lot of areas of my life!
I don’t make resolutions on New Year’s Day…I resolve to make changes in different areas of my life throughout the year, not only on one day. It is after all a process, this thing called life, everyday is really a fresh start. I know that I wake up with great intentions of what I will do with my day, how I will do better or be better or whatever and often by the time I have had my morning tea or coffee, I have already failed at something!
If I was going to make a resolution, it would be to spend more time in God’s Word, to make more time for quiet time with the Lord and to be consistent. I guess technically that is more than one thing but each day I can remind myself to start fresh in the Lord and try to do what He wants me to do each day.
I will continue to claim Jeremiah 29:11 as my life verse and continue to put my hope in Him.
” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
